Understanding AI is not the same as building with it.

Oxford has no shortage of people who understand AI. Executive courses, diplomas, reading groups, conference panels - the city is thick with them, and they are good. What was missing was the next step: a day where you actually build the thing.

That gap is oddly consistent. Senior people arrive having read widely, having sat through the strategy modules, having formed genuine views about where this goes. And they have still never chained three AI steps together on a task they actually own. Not because it is hard. Because nobody ever sat them down for a day and got them through the first one.

So the format is deliberately narrow. One day. One real task each. A small room, capped so that it stays facilitated rather than lectured. Everyone leaves with something running, and with the pattern underneath it - which is the part that transfers to the next task, and the one after that.

There is a second gap sitting behind the first. A workflow is only as good as what it knows about you, and most AI tools know nothing - so every run starts by explaining the business again. That is a different problem, and it has its own day behind it: building the structured store of your own context those tools can draw on. The two compound, and neither assumes the other.
